IMG_9878Beth Collins Speaks is about women finding their voice and using it to say what they need.  It is about me, Beth Collins, using my voice to share stories and experiences of women on a path of discovery.  It is my intention to inspire women everywhere to get clear about who they are and what they really want so they can live a life of clarity, connection, and endless possibilities.

I spent a number of years in non-profit program development and management where I created programs that helped low-income women overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.  By helping women identify their strengths and passions and teaching them to create opportunities from there, we witnessed many success stories.

Completely satisfied with the work I was doing, I had no intention of doing anything else.  The world had other ideas.  In 2004 I was involved in what I now refer to as the “truck incident.”  While travelling on I75 in northwest Ohio I slowed for construction traffic.  The truck behind me didn’t.  In order to recover fully from the injuries I sustained, I resigned from my job.  I began asking myself important questions and more importantly, listened for the answers.

In 2007 I made a bold decision to create a space for a larger community of women to receive the support I had seen benefit so many others.  Over and over I have found that when you create space for someone to reconsider their situation and renew their spirit, endless possibilities can come forward.  In September, 2007 I opened a women’s renewal center for that purpose and call it Elizabeth’s House.  Two years later I find it is time for more and have decided to blog the journey that up to now seems to have inspired so many.  I can’t wait to see what’s next!
